CE Delft’s work on the theme of International energy encompasses research and advice on the global transition of the energy sector to sustainable supply systems. In the Netherlands, as in other EU member states, national energy policies and energy systems are being shaped increasingly by international energy and climate policies, including the targets, standards and constraints relating to energy efficiency, renewable energy and carbon emissions embodied in EU legislation. At the same time, the energy infrastructure of north-west European member states is becoming ever more integrated.
Our work on this theme involves research and consultancy on international developments in the energy sector, focusing on the following issues:
