Supply chain analysis

Government, industry, NGOs and consumers: from all sides there is growing demand for data on the environmental footprint of products and services, from cradle to grave, from raw materials to waste. Increasingly, these various players want advice on the economic and environmental scope for recycling and the circular economy. For many years CE Delft has been conducting high-quality and practically geared life cycle assessments (LCAs) within the context of both product-oriented environmental care in industry and umbrella policies on materials, waste and climate protection. We are well-qualified to perform environmental analyses on recycling and reuse of products and materials as a springboard for selecting the most promising options for the circular economy. In doing so, we make use of the latest understanding of how best to incorporate recycling and reuse in LCA studies (the recycled-content, end-of-life, or 50/50% approach).

CE Delft’s Supply Chain Analysis staff work for companies like Unilever, FrieslandCampina, Sita and Eneco as well as for NGOs like Greenpeace, the Netherlands Society for Nature and the Environment (Natuur & Milieu) and Questionmark. We also carry out studies for Dutch ministries and the European Commission to support them in improving sustainability policies. Much of our work results in succinct but clearly worded advisory reports, and increasingly also in models and tools.
Our main areas of expertise are agro and food chains, raw material chains (including packaging and products) and biomass.
